Returning back to Kaohsiung
Ishigaki Shincho returned to Kaohsiung with the intention of opening his own photo studio. However, as soon as he started the new business, he was called to join the military in 1944. He managed to survive the war and re-opened his studio in 1946. But, since the sovereignty of Taiwan was already passed on to the government of Republic of China, Japanese and Okinawan colonial settlers left Taiwan for repatriation. Ishigaki also closed his business in Kaohsiung, and left for Ishigaki Island in 1946.
